With profound sadness, family and friends announce the passing of Camden Rece Matthew Soldier, affectionately known as “Cam,” who passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 17. Born on January 26, 2009, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to April Dreadfulwater and Matthew Soldier, Camden lived a life defined by love, laughter, and an adventurous spirit.

As the youngest of five siblings, Camden brought joy wherever he went. He loved the outdoors, traveling, family gatherings, and spending time near the water. His infectious smile and charismatic personality made him unforgettable to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Camden attended Chouteau Schools through eighth grade before continuing his education at Keys High School. Determined to build a successful future, he later earned his GED and enrolled in the HVAC program at Oklahoma Technical College. Proud of his accomplishments, Camden embraced his studies with enthusiasm and quickly became a valued member of the OTC family.

Camden is survived by his mother, April Dreadfulwater; stepfather, Cody Sparks; father, Matthew Soldier; siblings Lauran, Trent, Andrew, and Matthew Soldier II; his lifelong friend Nehemiah Begay; special friend Abby Goad; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents and great-grandparents, whose memories remained close to his heart.

This obituary 2026 tribute celebrates a young man whose kindness, humor, and determination inspired those around him. Camden’s legacy lives on through the friendships he nurtured, the dreams he pursued, and the love he shared.

Funeral Arrangements and Celebration of Life

Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Chouteau First Baptist Church. A wake service will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor.

Camden Soldier passed away far too soon, but his memory will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
