Aspen Jae Brooks Mcalester Oklahoma Death, Funeral Arrangements Announced: The McAlester community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Aspen Jae Brooks, who passed away on May 30, 2026, at the age of 15. Her passing has left family, friends, classmates, and loved ones grieving the loss of a remarkable young woman whose kindness, faith, and vibrant personality touched countless lives.
Born on October 1, 2010, in McAlester, Aspen was the cherished daughter of Skye Donnell Brooks. Known affectionately as “Monkey” by her family, Aspen was admired for her infectious smile, compassionate heart, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. She had recently completed her freshman year at Epic Charter School and worked at Chick-fil-A in McAlester.
A devoted member of Apostolics of McAlester Church, Aspen’s faith played an important role in her life. She loved hair, makeup, tanning, and anything pink, but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and caring for children, especially her foster baby brother, Thomas, and the little ones who lovingly called her “Lala.”
Aspen is survived by her mother, Skye Mayeux; stepfather, Justin; siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, extended family members, boyfriend Quinton Justice, and many dear friends. Her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Funeral Arrangements and Celebration of Life
Family and friends gathered for visitation on June 4, 2026, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service celebrating Aspen’s life was held on June 5, 2026, at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by Rev. Joel Price, followed by cremation.
Though Aspen Jae Brooks passed away far too soon, her beautiful spirit, unwavering love, and unforgettable memories will live on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
