A desperate search is underway for 32-year-old Shafia Murad, who has been missing since Thursday, May 28, after she was last seen at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, Illinois.
According to family members, Murad was last seen at approximately 1:30 p.m. near the Ann Taylor store inside the outlet mall. Since that time, there has been no confirmed contact with her, prompting growing concern among relatives and law enforcement officials.
The situation has become increasingly alarming after Murad’s phone, wallet, identification, and bank cards were discovered at the shopping center. Despite extensive efforts to locate her, her whereabouts remain unknown.
Family members describe her disappearance as highly unusual and out of character. Her sister, Sofia Murad, said the family is deeply worried about her safety and well-being.
” We are extremely concerned for her safety and well-being,” Sofia said while appealing to the public for assistance.
Relatives have indicated that Shafia is considered vulnerable due to a serious mental health condition. They noted that she is currently without her cellphone, identification, financial resources, and important medications, circumstances that have heightened concerns for her welfare.
Friends, family members, and community supporters continue to share information online in hopes of generating leads that could help bring her home safely.
